Youth charity launches ethically driven AP in Mansfield

Updated: Jul 29

A new chapter in education has begun in Mansfield, as local youth charity The Inspire and Achieve Foundation (IAF) officially launches its innovative and ethically driven Alternative Provision (AP): Achievement Unlocked.

Set within IAF’s newly Youth Hub, Achievement Unlocked offers a fresh, flexible learning environment for young people aged 16 and over with an EHCP who face barriers to mainstream education. The introduction of this programme extends IAF's current support for unemployed young people and has been designed to adopt a preventative approach that nurtures young people's potential and heralds back to IAF's original mission statement of inspiring young people and empowering them to achieve their best.

From learners with anxiety or autism to those who’ve experienced social exclusion or need a smaller, more nurturing space, this part-time programme is designed to meet young people where they’re at and support them to build a future they’re proud of. But this isn’t your average AP. Grounded in outdoor education, teamwork, and experiential learning, our programme takes a hands-on, project-based approach that turns education into an adventure. Learners follow The King's Trust Personal Development and Employability (PDE) qualification, with the opportunity to gain practical skills in areas such as construction, retail, social care, entrepreneurship, marketing, and project management - all while growing their confidence, communication, and independence.

Achievement Unlocked is now open to new referrals and we encourage anyone who is interested in joining us to reach out to our provision manager Jaye Crew or take a look through our online prospectus.
