SAFEGUARDING

Safeguarding refers to the measures and processes we put in place to protect the health, wellbeing, and human rights of children and young people, ensuring they live free from harm, abuse, and neglect. Under the Children Act 2004, all organisations and individuals working with young people have a legal and moral duty to help safeguard and promote their welfare. The Inspire and Achieve Foundation takes this responsibility seriously. Our aim is to create a safe, inclusive and supportive atmosphere where young people are listened to, respected, and can reach their full potential. We work with young people aged 16–24, many of whom face significant barriers to education, employment, or training, and we are dedicated to protecting them from risks both within and beyond our programmes.

HOW WE SUPPORT SAFEGUARDING.
We have a robust safeguarding framework in place that includes:

A dedicated safeguarding team trained to deal with all levels of concern.
-
Full, enhanced DBS checks for all staff in line with our Safer Recruitment Policy.
-
Clear and accessible reporting channels for young people, staff, and external partners.
-
Strong working relationships with external agencies such as local safeguarding boards, social care, CAMHS, the police, and Prevent officers.
-
Regular safeguarding training for all staff to ensure everyone is aware of signs of harm and stop young people from becoming involved in terrorism or supporting extremist ideologies.
-
Regular prevent training for all staff to ensure everyone can spot the signs of radicalisation early
-
Secure systems for managing and storing safeguarding information in line with GDPR and Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance.

TRANSITIONS TO THE PROVISION
In accordance with statutory guidance, we request that any education providers or agencies working with a young person who is transitioning to Inspire and Achieve Foundation share relevant safeguarding information or files with us securely. This allows us to provide a safe, supportive start for the young person and ensure continuity of care and effective safeguarding practices.

Professionals (social workers, youth offending teams, probation services, and other education providers) wishing to visit one of our sites to work with a young person, please be aware of the following requirements:
-
A formal appointment must be made in advance.
-
All visitors must present valid professional ID.
-
Visitors are expected to sign in on arrival and, where possible, be accompanied by a staff member.
-
Any safeguarding concerns raised during a visit should be reported immediately to a member of staff or IAF's safeguarding team.
